Kensei Partners’ mission is to empower sales professionals with the tools and techniques they need to master the selling moment.
Formed from the restructuring of Basho Technologies, Kensei continues to deliver on proven techniques that make an immediate impact at every stage of the sales cycle for organizations around the world. With the Basho techniques as a foundation, Kensei consults with organization to develop customized programs that meet their specific needs. We are not fans of sales theory, long cumbersome sales process, role playing or any else that is impractical or not immediately applicable.
We are sales professionals first and foremost with a true passion for Sales. We have been fortunate enough to be put in a position to share techniques that we know work and can make a difference. In addition, based on our exposure to all the various sales processes, challenges, successes, etc. of the clients we works with we are able to constantly evolve and bring new ideas to the table.
John Barrows
Prior to co-founding Kensei Partners, John was a Sr. Trainer and Consultant with Basho Technologies.He consulted with top sales executives and senior management in multiple Fortune 500 companies to dissect their existing sales process, understand the execution gaps and deliver impactful training focused on specific techniques and driving immediate results. His sales expertise evolved from being a top performer at previous companies like Black & Decker and Xerox along with being a VP of Sales & Marketing for a self funded small business IT services firm, Thrive Networks located in Concord, MA. Joining as the fifth employee he led Thrive for seven years to become one of the largest and fastest growing companies in Massachusetts, eventually being acquired by Staples Inc. where he was the point person for the sales and marketing integration. His sales process was also highlighted in the August 2004 edition of Inc Magazine John graduated from the University of Maryland with his degree in Marketing. Eric Shaver
Prior to co-founding Kensei Partners, Eric was a Sr. Trainer and Consultant with Basho Technologies where he drew upon his 20 years of successful direct sales, business development and sales management experience to drive unprecedented results for Basho’s clients. At Basho, Eric worked closely with executive leadership, line sales management, and individual contributors to create repeatable and measurable programs for direct and indirect sales teams along with channel partners. These programs focused on the areas of executive demand generation, increasing lead-to-opportunity conversion ratios and process execution design and implementation. A proven entrepreneurial sales professional, Eric has spent the majority of his career building customer bases and exceeding revenue goals in both category leading and venture-funded software companies. He brings extensive experience selling disruptive technologies and new products in both new and mature markets. Eric graduated with honors from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
