Prior to co-founding Kensei Partners, Eric was a Sr. Trainer and Consultant with Basho Technologies where he drew upon his 20 years of successful direct sales, business development and sales management experience to drive unprecedented results for Basho’s clients.
At Basho, Eric worked closely with executive leadership, line sales management, and individual contributors to create repeatable and measurable programs for direct and indirect sales teams along with channel partners. These programs focused on the areas of executive demand generation, increasing lead-to-opportunity conversion ratios and process execution design and implementation. A proven entrepreneurial sales professional, Eric has spent the majority of his career building customer bases and exceeding revenue goals in both category leading and venture-funded software companies. He brings extensive experience selling disruptive technologies and new products in both new and mature markets. Eric graduated with honors from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. As co-founder and Managing Partner of Kensei Partners John applies his experience and passion for Sales to empower sales teams with the tools they need to be successful while elevating the profession of sales to the respect level it deserves. He's a trusted adviser to companies like Salesforce.com, Sybase, HP, NCR and many others while training their global sales teams in places like Japan, Hong Kong, and all over Europe.
His sales expertise evolved from being a top performer at every sales position (inside, field, channel, business development) for Black & Decker, Xerox, and most recently as the Director of Sales & Training for Basho Technologies. A highlight of his success was his time spent as the VP of Sales & Marketing for a self funded IT services firm, Thrive Networks. As one of its original members John led Thrive for seven years to become one of the largest and fastest growing IT Service companies in Massachusetts, eventually being acquired by Staples Inc. where he led the sales and marketing integration. During his time at Thrive John's sales process was highlighted in the August 2004 edition of Inc Magazine.
Recently John was interviewed and hired as a consultant directly by Jack and Suzy Welch to help them develop their sales and marketing strategy for their new online MBA program. John worked directly with Jack and Suzy Welch for over two months on sales strategy and execution.
